Product featuresLead-free profiles require a higher peak temperature, which leaves manufacturers with a much
smaller margin for error when it comes to reflowing boards. Tin/lead solder has a liquidus of
183C, allowing peak temperatures to be set at 210C--a safe 50C away from heat levels that can
be dangerous to the component. Lead-free solders reach liquids at 217+C, requiring set peak
temperatures of 240 to 250C. The margin of safety for components narrows to a mere 10 to
20C--lead-free soldering is thus less forgiving of temperature fluctuations. Many older reflow
ovens just don't have the stringent temperature control required for safe, reliable lead-free
soldering. The perfect oven for lead-free solders has higher convection rates and precise

Total Process ControlEight top and eight bottom heating zones--all independently programmable--plus one cooling zonegive you complete control over your process. An integrated 3-channel profiler includes intelligent analysis software to allow you to fine tune your results. EF-8500 also provides online temperature testing and PCB fail testing. EcoFlow model ovens feature convection top zones.
Simple ControlsEco Automation EcoFlow reflow ovens feature PC control with an at-a-glance oven status screen. Temperature profiles are easily set and recalled. Production statistics are stored in a database for quick retrieval and analysis. Hardcopy records may be printed. Also, the EF-8500 includes a UPS to protect the oven against damage in the event of a power outage.
Flexible Board HandlingEcoFlow serie machines feature a pin conveyor installed over a stainless steel mesh belt conveor. The pinconveyor, which opens to nearly 20" wide, allows you to process double-sided boards and integrate the 8500 into your existing automated production line. The mesh belt conveyorinstalled below the pin conveyor acts as a support, or it can be used for quick-changeover reflowing of single-sided boards. The EF-8500 can be used as a batch oven using either the pin or the belt conveyor.
